Glad I'm not in this boat, but with Mccain running for president leading the republicans and wanting to add an amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman, I have to wonder if it would be a violation a violation of seperation between church and state in our own bill of rights. It seems to me that a wedding would be considered a religous ceremony, despite what the government thinks is and isn't a legitimate marriage. Notice that I'm not saying we should force churches to marry gay couples, but I'm simply questioning the scenario that a church would want to grant that status to the couple with no polygamy in this scenario! Just because you get married in a church does not, in and of itself, make the marriage legal. The license has to be issued from the state and signed and filed with the clerk of court.
