It was the height of the Aids crisis and she was in the waiting room of an inner-city STI clinic, frequented by those most at risk of HIV: gay men, injecting drug users, sex workers. A positive result, back then, would have been a death sentence. In the clinic a friendly gay counsellor asked Megan to step into his room and asked her if everything was OK. No, she said. No, it absolutely was not. People gave her a cautious, wide berth.

Why Do Women Hate Men?
Laverne Cox talks stigma of men dating trans women: 'People don't get it'
Physical attractiveness is the degree to which a person's physical features are considered aesthetically pleasing or beautiful. The term often implies sexual attractiveness or desirability, but can also be distinct from either. There are many factors which influence one person's attraction to another, with physical aspects being one of them. Physical attraction itself includes universal perceptions common to all human cultures such as facial symmetry , sociocultural dependent attributes and personal preferences unique to a particular individual. In many cases, humans subconsciously attribute positive characteristics, such as intelligence and honesty, to physically attractive people. Men, on average, tend to be attracted to women who have a youthful appearance and exhibit features such as a symmetrical face , full breasts, full lips, and a low waist-hip ratio.
Laverne Cox reveals she's 'in love again,' talks stigma facing men who date trans women
If you're a woman who is sometimes sexually attracted to other women, but you've only had romantic relationships with men, then you already know that queer women who have only dated men come across their own set of struggles and insecurities. Of course, I'm by no means trying to compare the struggles of queer women like myself to the vast amount of bullshit that gay, lesbian, and transgender individuals experience in our society though you can also be a trans queer woman who's only dated men. I mean, I've come across blatant disapproval of my queerness before, and people have certainly doubted my sexuality just because of my lack of experience with women — but being a queer woman who's never dated men has never put me in danger, or kept me from being served at a restaurant, either. That said, being queer and inexperienced comes with its own set of challenges.
